BLK JKS – Free “Mystery” EP

I'm not sure how to describe South Africa's BLK JKS other than to say that they don't sound like what I expected. But then again, what should one expect from an African band who is adored by Fader, but whose EP is now being released by Secretly Canadian, home of the beardiest, scruffiest, 1970-est singer-songwriters this side of Bedford Avenue? I think the easiest comparison for modern day readers-of-music-blogs would be to say that they sound a little like TVOTR, but slightly more... intense.
Secretly Canadian has remastered and re-sequenced their Mystery EP, which will be available on 12" on 3/10. In the meantime, you can download the whole thing for free from eMusic and Other Music Digital.
There's also a documentary about the band up at Digforfire.TV right now.
