the new david kilgour album “falling debris” with lyrics from NZ poet sam hunt is also rather fantastic if you can get your hands on it.

and then buy it after you’re convinced. so far this is probably my kilgour solo album (yeah i like it better than “a feather in the engine”) and also probably my favorite record of the year, including grizzly bear and all that jazz. no word i’ve heard on a US release though, which is odd because merge has released his last few solo records here along with all the clean stuff. but it’s seriously so good.
