The Village Voice dropped a Beefheart reference in describing them, while Here We Go Magic’s Luke Temple gave them a Sly & the Family Stone comparison… how could you not check them out after that?

Young Galaxy's second album is a record of vastnesses and details, first glances and dying stars. It is astronomical. It is craning, adamant pop music. There are no jams: this is precise. Songs that can fill rooms utterly, shake them with big melody; but also these small & perfect gestures - the strings that appear at 4:20 in "Light Years", opening like a night garden. There’s a brand new 7-inch out from Denton’s Fergus & Geronimo, courtesy of Tic Tac Totally. The disc features the songs “Blind Muslim Girl” b/w “Powerful Lovin’”, and can be had in a limited-edition (mailorder only exclusive) gold version (well, if you order fairly soon it can be had… I wouldn’t expect those to last long).
