New Mexican Summer Releases – Real Estate, Mayfair Set, Steve Moore, Pearl Harbor (Pearl Harbour) and More…

Let’s take just a moment to get up to speed on what’s in the pipeline from the Mexican Summer label in the coming days. The last remaining release from the batch of releases mentioned in June, the Orkustra reissue 2xLP, is due soon. And all of the batch mentioned in July (Young Prisms, Bipolar Bear, and John Carpenter should also be out soon. October will bring rerelease of Fraction’s 1971 classic Moonblood. Although Washed Out’s Life Of Leisure 12″ already sold out of its 50 copies of “early bird” sales, it will become widely available in early October. And November brings a 7-inch from SF’s Weekend.

So what else is to come soon? As you can see from the cover art above, Something About The Chaparrals, the 12″ from LA’s Pearl Harbor (aka “Pearl Harbour”), a 10″ from Steve Moore of Zombi, and a full-length LP from Glasgow band Lucky Luke.

And after that? You can also expect future releases from Real Estate, The Alps (not Sic), Robert Lester Folsom (he’s from the ’70s), The Mayfair Set, Denver, CO band Woodsman, and (I think) Swedish band The Amazing.

Knowing Mexican Summer, that’s probably just the tip of the iceberg. I have a feeling they’re having a competition with Captured Tracks to see who can put out the most vinyl in a single year.
