New Releases of Note, 9/8/09
This is pretty much a MEGA-WEEK of new releases, so music fans: expect your wallet to get hit hard. Not even counting that slew of newly-remastered Beatles discs, there’s still a boatload of stuff– lots of it from big, classic indie names: there’s the new Circulatory System, Merge is dropping both the new Clean album AND the new Polvo, there’s Os Mutantes‘ all-new Haih, and Yo La Tengo’s Popular Songs is out today as well. On top of that, you’ve got your long-awaited albums from HEALTH, Vivian Girls, and Taken By Trees, AND on top of that, there’s an obscene amount of great 7-inches: Fergus & Geronimo, The Smith Westerns, Times New Viking, Rainbow Bridge…

Ryan Catbird says:I added Forest Fire in there, though it stills seems to be sort of hard to find exact places to buy just yet (I just linked to the Insound listing).
If I had to make a guess about “She’s Building,” I’d say it’s either (a.) they decided it maybe just didn’t quite “fit” in retrospect or (b.) something to do with the rerelease’s rights/credits/etc. with regard to Sharon (Van Etten, who sings it on the recording).
