A Classic Education – “Spanish Harlem”Anthemic Italo-Canadian rock band A Classic Education is the latest to reinterpret the song written by Jerry Lieber and Phil Spector and made famous by Ben E. King and Aretha Franklin (amongst countless others). It comes just as the band is set to cross the Atlantic to play CMJ in New York in October.
Next week, San Diego’s Black Heart Procession will release their long-awaited new album Six. It’s their (duh) 6th full-length, and not only is it their first new release in 3 years, but also the first on their new home Temporary Residence– coincidentally also now the home to the BHP members’ other band Three Mile Pilot (who have a new 7″ out soon and a full-length slated for 2010).
Mark your calendar for next week, but in the meantime, enjoy Six here a week early via Listen@MBV.
