Yeasayer’s Interactive Video

Yeasayer Video

Nearly three weeks ago, when Yeasayer dropped news of their new Ambling Alp single, the press materials had also promised to “unleash… a breakthrough video at yeasayer.net on the evening of October 30th.” Well, it’s a little bit late, but that video is now here, and better late than never, right? It’s definitely NSFW (why do I feel like I’m giving this disclaimer all the time now?), and features some trippy interactive video that I can tell you is almost certainly an homage to the early ’70s work of Dan Graham.

I like how I read about this on several other music sites, and you guys are the only ones who recognized that connection to Graham’s “Body Press” piece. You guys must be all “cultured” and shit.

To be fair, it helps that I just saw that very piece at the Whitney just a few months ago!

  3. Michael says:

“breakthrough video” seems to imply Music Video – but all I hear is a psychedelic kitchen sink dripping. It’s neat / weird / bizarre but would it have killed them to have the song play?
