7 Inches of MBV: Brilliant Colors – “Never Mine” b/w “Kissing’s Easy”
In an era where a 7-inch can set you back $7, $8, hell, even $10, it’s flat-out awesome that there are still a select few labels cranking out a steady stream of great singles that you grab for just a few bucks.
Case in point: the illustrious Slumberland. Since they kicked back into gear just a few years ago, they’ve been churning out all kinds of excellent 7-inch wax– what’s more, almost always in delicious array of colors. And with new singles forthcoming from Manatee, Tender Trap, Spectrals and more, it doesn’t look like they plan to stop any time soon. (Good!)
And so it is that we hope you’ll enjoy the new 7 Inches feature of Listen@MBV. This first one comes from San Francisco’s Brilliant Colors, whose Dills-meets-Shop-Assistants indiepop makes for about as perfect a kickoff as I can imagine.
Check it out, and pick it up from Slumberland on lovely mint-green vinyl for just $4.
