MP3: Mirah – “Gone Are All The Days (Disco Mix)” (via the K Singles Zip-Pak)

Mirah – “Gone Are All The Days (Disco Mix)” The track “Gone Are All The Days,” from Mirah‘s 2009 LP (a)spera apparently picked up a bouncy disco beat when her band took the song live, and K recently got the band into the studio at Dub Narcotic and captured this new take on the song. This’ll be the lead track from a forthcoming 12″ single (out 8/24), which also features an instrumental version, an a capella version, and a remix by Hooliganship.
But this also marks the first release in the new K Singles Zip-Pak — their “series of underground singles delivered directly to your virtual doorstep every week via the wonders of electronic mail and the World-Wide Web.” So what does that mean? In this case, for example, it means getting the digital version of this record 2 months ahead of the release– PLUS 2 exclusive non-12″ tracks (a Shawn Parke remix, and a “reduced instrumental” remix). PLUS 4 high-resolution, print-ready copies of 4 classic Mirah shows.
If this is the sort of thing we can expect from the K Singles Zip-Pak every week of the year, then damn. Get on over and sign up, at $1/week, it’s a steal.
