Listen@MBV: Versus – “On the Ones and Threes”

I realize there are some big deal albums out this week, but I’m hoping that doesn’t mean that the other worthy, if lower-profile, releases out this week get swept under your rug. Case in point: August 3rd marks the release of On the Ones and Threes, the first new album in a decade from indie-rock luminaries Versus. Yes, after 10 years of, well, doing other things, the Baluyut boys & Fontaine Toups are back with a new record, and we’ve got it right here for your streaming pleasure. You’ve no doubt noticed the amazing cover artwork– it was done by the super-illustrator Tae Won Yu, along Mr. Teenbeat himself, Mark Robinson. It looks even more amazing on the 2xLP vinyl edition of the album– which, coincidentally, also includes two additional tracks not on the CD release. And wouldn’t you know it?
